Freeze-dried, BFS or soft capsule: understanding the formats

YOUREE’s manufacturing network includes several small-dose skincare formats. Understand the production routes before choosing a direction for your product brief.

Automated small-dose skincare production equipment at YOUREE

Small-dose skincare is not a single production method. YOUREE’s company materials describe separate capabilities for freeze-dried products, BFS single doses and soft capsules. These formats belong in the development discussion because each brings its own manufacturing and packaging route.

Freeze-dried skincare

The company presentation describes automated lines for freeze-dried skincare, connecting container preparation, filling and sealing activities. For a brand brief, begin by explaining the intended product presentation and how the customer will use it.

The formulation and manufacturing team can then review whether the proposed product is suited to the available process. A format name alone is not a complete development specification.

BFS single-dose products

BFS stands for blow, fill and seal. The process described in YOUREE’s materials brings these activities together in an integrated production route for small-dose containers.

Questions for the project team include the desired dose, the product texture, how the container will be opened and the intended outer packaging. These details connect the manufacturing format with the experience your brand wants to create.

Soft capsule skincare

YOUREE also describes a dedicated soft capsule skincare line. This is a different product and packaging direction from a bottle or a BFS container, so it should be reviewed as its own development route.

For a useful first conversation, bring the proposed formula direction, application routine, unit presentation and estimated volume. The team can then discuss which information is needed for evaluation and sampling.

Choose through evaluation

These capabilities describe manufacturing options, not a promise that every formula fits every format. Start with the product experience and ask for a technical review of the formula, container and process together. That makes the eventual format choice part of a considered development plan.
